Motion ("Motion," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use our mobile application and services (collectively, the "App").

By using Motion, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use the App.

Location & GPS Data

We collect precise location data (latitude and longitude) during your runs to measure distance, pace, speed, route mapping, and overall performance. Location tracking is active only when you start a run and stops when you end it. You must grant location permissions for the App to function properly.

Workout & Performance Data

We collect and analyze data from your runs, including:

  • Distance covered
  • Pace and speed
  • Duration
  • Route (GPS path)
  • Elevation changes
  • Performance stats (PAC, DIS, CON, END)

Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

  • Username or display name
  • Email address
  • Profile picture (optional)
  • Age or date of birth (to verify minimum age requirements)

Device & Usage Data

We automatically collect certain information about your device and how you use the App:

  • Device type and model
  • Operating system version
  • Unique device identifiers
  • App usage patterns and crash reports
  • IP address

Social Sharing Data

If you choose to generate and share performance cards or templates on social media, we may process the images and data you select to share. We do not post on your behalf without explicit permission.

How We Use Your Data

  • Calculate pace, distance, speed, and other metrics
  • Enable matchmaking for 5km battles with other runners
  • Maintain league rankings and leaderboards
  • Generate FIFA-style performance cards based on your stats
  • Provide personalized insights and recommendations
  • Improve the App's functionality and user experience
  • Communicate with you about updates, features, and support
  • Detect and prevent cheating, fraud, or misuse of the App
  • Comply with legal obligations

How We Share Your Data

We do not sell your personal information. However, we may share your data with third parties in the following circumstances:

We work with trusted third-party service providers to help operate the App, including:

Public Leaderboards

Your username, performance stats, and league ranking may be visible to other users in public leaderboards and battle results. Your exact GPS routes are never shared publicly unless you explicitly choose to share them.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or security purposes.

Aggregated or anonymized data (which cannot identify you personally) may be retained indefinitely for analytics and research purposes.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

Access & Portability

You can request a copy of your personal data in a portable format.

Correction

You can update or correct your account information within the App settings.

Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account, or contact us at privacy@motionrunning.app.

Opt-Out of Marketing

You can unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time using the link in the email.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information (CCPA)

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Children's Privacy

Motion is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@motionrunning.app, and we will delete the information.

International Data Transfers

Motion is available globally. Your information may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries that may have different data protection laws than your country.

We comply with GDPR (for EU users), CCPA (for California residents), and LGPD (for Brazilian users).

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption, secure servers, and access controls. Motion is a fitness tracking app designed to help you improve your running performance. It is not a medical device and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Running and physical activity involve inherent risks. Before starting any fitness program, consult with a qualified healthcare provider, especially if you have any pre-existing health conditions. Use the App at your own risk.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the updated policy in the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
